Do your young toddlers have a favorite activity? I mean one that they could do over and over…EVERYDAY?
Well our little Belle LOVES these big wooden beads.
She carefully puts them on her little rope and takes them off again. This takes concentration and determination.
I find that she loves to do “work” or play with real life objects way more than actual toys.
and if she can not get the beads off fast enough…she uses her teeth!

Bear has always loved beads. The large wooden ones finally got too easy though so I just bought her pony beads to challenge her a bit more. She loves playing with household stuff much more than toys.

I'm right there with you. My little one would much rather play with cups, beads, pasta, whatever, than all the toys she has!

I have the same activity in my classroom. Younger children like it better.

my little one loves stringing beads, too! ...your post just reminded me of a pack of larger beads I bought and still need to open!
