Valentine hearts

These Valentine hearts are so fun and easy to make. Best of all, they look wonderful in the window!
I know it’s not even February, but we LOVE Valentine’s Day! I couldn’t wait to post at least one fun Valentine craft!

Want to make one?

First cut out a heart or two from some construction paper. Be sure not to cut the outside of the paper.

Then place the paper onto the sticky side of some contact paper (used to cover books)
I bought my roll at Dollarama

Then rip up tiny pieces of tissue paper ( we used dark blue, light blue, and purple left overs from the snowflake one we made during our Snow theme) and stick them to the contact paper hearts
This can be challenging for the little ones, but I loved watching how they kept working at it! It is a great activity to strengthen the hand muscles and improve co-ordination!
Then place another piece of contact paper over the tissue paper and rub down (this is the back side)
Turn over and admire the beautiful heart. Place in a window and watch the sun peak through!
You can also see the snowflake one we did too!
The snowflake idea came from the wonderful Frugal Family Fun blog. You can see that post HERE

Very cute! I need to go get some contact paper, I have seen so many activities that require it.

It's sometimes hard for me to find activities for both my 5yo and my 10yo but I think they would both enjoy this! Thanks SITStah!
