White vs Stainless Steel Appliances {with before & after photos}

I have white appliances in my house.

I love them.

Gasp…

It’s true. We just remodeled our entire kitchen and I decided to get white appliances.

My fear with stainless steel is that I would always have little fingerprints all over. I have seen rows of ovens and fridges on display in stores and cringe at all those fingerprints. I love the way stainless steel looks, but not sure I could do it.

My aunt just got a new stainless steel fridge and stove for her house. She posted before and after pictures so I asked her if I could share the photos with you. I love the new look and since she does not have little children running through her house every day they stay virtually fingerprint free. Bonus!!

So tell me, what color appliances do you have?

I’ll have to do a before and after picture of my kitchen for you all to see yet too!

I have white. Or soon to had.

My kitchen is all white with a bit of black trim and accents. The new knobs will be cobalt blue glass as my pots, pans and ceramics are cobalt blue. I have a vintage O'Keefe and Merritt stove that I will never replace.

The problem is my 25 year old GE refrigerator is dying, close to dead. I have to replace it but I have very limited choices. Because I have a vintage house I have a cabinet over the refrigerator I am loathe to remove. I have enough clearance for an 18 cu ft refrigerator in the 66 inch tall range. i can get an Amana exactly like the GE I had. But I like the interior of the Kitchenaid that only comes in stainless steel. I need a single door that opens to the left and no ice maker. And there is the rub. I will be replacing my 15 year old microwave as well with a Kitchenaid. It does come in white or stainless steel. I can't decide whether to get the white I love that works perfectly in my kitchen or the stainless steel to match the impending eyesore of a stainless steel refrigerator. It's only me so fingerprints are not an issue. Just my design aesthetic.

I know it might be a bit more expensive but I wish all of the manufacturers would offer white as well as black and stainless steel.

White all the way. We built 3 years ago and everything is white. I wouldn't consider ss; couldn't cope with it looking permanently grubby.

Just depends on which appliance you look at. LOL. Our dishwasher is gunmetal gray. Our toaster oven is stainless. Our microwave, fridge, and stove are white. The stove has black trim (shudder).

WE have white and frankly, I like them! I love the looks of clean stainless, but I have young kids who play w/ magnets etc. on the fridge.

We have stainless for the dishwasher, microwave and stove, but the stove is actually a stainless knock off that does show fingerprints. You would swear it was stainless when you see it. I had the same concerns as you, but when I saw this fridge, I saw that it was possible to have kids and stainless appliances that look good.
