DECORATE FOR FALL – 5 WAYS TO SPRUCE UP YOUR HOME

I’m excited to decorate to Fall. It is my favorite season. The weather is starting to change, and summer is coming to an end. Though in some places it may not seem cool enough to call it fall, fall is here. It is time to start thinking about ways to spruce up your home for Fall!

DECORATE FOR FALL – 5 WAYS TO SPRUCE UP YOUR HOME

FALL SCENTS

Nothing makes a home feel more cozy in Fall than the light scent of Fall flavors. There are all kinds of Fall smelling candles that can transform your home into a Fall haven. Try getting cinnamon, pumpkin spice, or vanilla candles to give your home the scent of Fall.

Some people are artificial sensitive to scents, myself included, so I prefer to use a diffuser to diffuser pure essential oils from doTerra. One of my favorite Fall combinations is a drop of cedarwood, a drop of wild orange and a drop of cinnamon – the combination makes it smell like fresh cookies have just been baked)

If guests are coming over I love to simmer a pot of hot apple cider – it smells wonderful and it is great to visit over a mug of cider.

ADD COLOR

You can transform a living room, dining room, or bathroom just by adding a few pops of Fall colors. Get a brown, orange, or red throw for your couch, and add in some Fall throw pillows. Adding an arrangement of branches with a Fall colored ribbon adds a nice touch.

SWITCH OUT KITCHEN ACCESSORIES

The kitchen is the perfect place to add muted Fall colors. Put candy corn in a clear dish on the counter, switch out your towels with oranges, reds, and browns, and hang festive Fall pot holders. Adding a basket of apples on the kitchen counter is also a nice touch. Here is an affiliate link for a wire harvest basket.

ADD A WREATH

Wreaths aren’t just for the Christmas season. You can create colorful wreaths from orange, brown, yellow, and red leaves. Decorate your wreath with real leaves or head to the craft store to get some fabric ones.

SWITCH OUT PICTURE FRAMES

Instead of the ordinary black or brown frames for family photos, switch your photos into festive frames with leaves, pumpkins, or muted colors. Head to your local dollar store to find inexpensive frames and pictures to hang on your wall for a little festive creativity.

When it comes to changing seasons, it’s always fun to make your home change too.

I have just read your post and I love your suggestions. Fall is my favorite season too. Even as a child, I loved the smell of wood smoke in the fall when people would burn wood in their woodstoves. I will keep your tips in mind when I buy or make decorations for this wonderful fruitful season.
