I did this spring bird nail design back in December and posted them on Instagram, but I really wanted to do a post on them so you can see how I painted them.
I got this idea from a painting I saw on the internet. To make this design you first need to paint your nails with a tan colour base. To make the blue, green and dark brown in the background, I mixed a couple drops of the polish with some water to dilute it and make it look like a water colour painting. After mixing the two, I just kind of slapped it on the nails, always starting with the lightest colour and layering on the darker ones. I use a lid of an old margarine container if ever I need to mix colours but you can use whatever surface you prefer. I then drew the black line of the wire, making sure to line up my nails while painting so it would look straight across the nails when I lined them up.
To draw the bird silhouette I started with a dotting tool to make the oval shaped and then added a head to it. Lastly, I used a thin tip to make the pointed tail of the silhouette and that’s how easy the bird is. To finish the look I added some dots of back on the nails and put dots of the original base tan colour over the black so they weren’t so overpowering. I also did dots of the tan over the blue and green parts. And that’s how I made these bird on wire silhouettes inspired by a painting.

I can't believe how talented this girl is! How she is able to recreate a wall painting on tiny finger nails is amazing.
