Over the past couple weeks at Mommymoment.ca I have been writing about my experience in the Arctic and working with the indigenous people there. So far all of my posts have been about what I have been thankful for. Well there is one thing that I am very thankful for and not everyone in the world has this opportunity. That is clean, professional health care.
On the 12 of January 2010 Haiti was hit with the largest earthquake they had ever known. These people’s entire world had changed overnight and it will take years for life to get back to normal, if they can find what normal is. The great folks at Speroway, (formerly Feed the Children Canada) have a dream to build a hospital for Haiti.
I would first like to take the chance to say more about all the great things that Speroway does. Speroway helps the disenfranchised, the helpless and those who do not have a voice. Speroway wants to be an agent of change for greater society wherever they are. Speroway has been all over the world working with these people. They have established an Abandoned Baby Center in Africa, built a medical dental clinic in Guatemala, and even work with First Nations people of Canada providing beds and camps for kids. These are only a few of the projects Speroway had operating. However this project of building a hospital for Haiti is definitely a project full of ambition.
