OPI Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This fall OPI is releasing its 8th limited edition Breast Cancer Awareness polish duo.

In 2014, OPI will donate $25,000 to Susan G. Komen® in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October). OPI will also donate $5,000 to Rethink Breast Cancer in Canada.

I really enjoyed working with both these colours: Mod About You and The Power of Pink. Mod About You was really creamy and had nice coverage with two coats. The Power of Pink has a bit of a colour base, so you could wear it by itself, unlike many other glitter polishes.

I had just done my nails and didn’t want to take them off so thankfully my younger sister volunteered to be my canvas and so I painted The Power of Pink on her nails to show you how it looks. I did roses for my design with this set. I thought it fitting to do something delicate and pretty with the gorgeous Mod About You.

I’ve never tried roses before so this was a first attempt! I definitely looked at a few YouTube videos before conquering this design. It was hard at first, but the key is to not try to make it look perfect. It sounds like odd advice but believe me, I sat there scrutinizing every detail and it just wasn’t coming out right. Then I relaxed and just started painting lines and that’s when it started to look good. I will definitely be doing more experimenting with roses in the future but am pleased with this first look. So there you have it.
