no bean Hawaiian chili recipe
This Hawaiian chili recipe has no beans and boasts the perfect combination of sweet and heat.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground pork
- 2 tsp coconut oil
- 2.5 cups tomato sauce
- 1 red pepper
- 1 green pepper
- 1/2 large sweet onion
- 3 chopped garlic cloves
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 small pineapple
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown and season (with salt and pepper) 2 lbs ground pork in the 2 tsp coconut oil.
- Once brown, add all remaining ingredients (except the pineapple).
- Mix thoroughly and bake for 2.5 hours at 225 degrees (covered).
- Add in one small chopped up pineapple and bake for an additional 30 min.
If you do cook the chili in a cast iron dutch oven, be sure to remove chili to serve and to store as it is not good to let tomato base items and cast iron sit together after cooking.
