Making the most of your gadgets

Blogger has a vast variety of gadgets, which can be helpful to share information, improve functionality of your blog, and make it more navigational. This week we are going to go through some of the gadgets available to blogger and discuss their functions.

I have noticed many people don’t even know these gadgets exist, what they don’t know is that it is very easy to do some of the things they thought would be difficult. They search the web and follow complicated tutorials to do things that are very easy and are already built into blogger- which is why I decided to feature popular gadgets. We aren’t going to be featuring any of the basic gadgets- (which is on the first page of the gadgets page) but we will be featuring some of the lesser known gadgets that may also prove to be helpful.

Google Translation gadget can translate between common languages in the world

Twitter client gadget– A full Twitter client inside Netvibes! Follow your friends updates, read and send messages to your contacts and followers

This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the variety of gadgets available- these are the gadgets that I found were most useful. Anything you can think up- I am sure there is a gadget available for it. There are also alot of fun gadgets out there, like famous quotes, Mp3 players, games, pet animals, daily pictures etc.

If you are familiar with adding in gadgets- it’s fairly simple. When you click ‘add a gadget’ on your page elements page, the first page that appears is the basic gadgets. On the left hand side you will see a list of featured, most popular, and more gadgets which you can search through. When you find one you want to add just click the blue + sign by on the right hand side of the gadget you want- then adjust the settings and functionality to your preferences and save it. Once it’s saved you can re-arrange your gadgets around your blog by dragging and dropping- which makes customization easy.

This may be silly to some of you to go over- but you’d be surprised at how many people don’t even have a clue as to what page elements are. Some of you may have already have utilized the variety of gadgets available- but if you haven’t I hope this opens up more possibilities to make your blog as good as you always dreamed.
