Kids by Safilo ~ Frames that meet a child’s needs #giveaway {CAN}

Did you know? 1 in 6 children worldwide have visual defects, and approximately 15% of these refractive errors require prompt correction.

Kids By Safilo

I got my first pair of glasses when I was 9 years old — in grade 3 — in the 1980’s. Back then there weren’t a lot of choices for glasses for kids so I ended up with a really big, round, not so flattering pair. Fast forward many years to my daughter who received her first pair of glasses at 9 years old — in grade 3 — in the 2015’s. Because there were many years in between my first pair and her first pair of glasses, I assumed that there would be many more choices in kids glasses wear. I was actually a little disappointed.  The hard plastic frames were to harsh for her face and the more delicate frames seem a little on the flimsy side.

This summer, Safilo presents their all-new KIDS BY SAFILO eyewear collection. KIDS BY SAFILO optical frames were created to perfectly match children’s needs and, at the same time, their parents’ expectations!

Thanks to a collaboration with SIOP (Società Italiana di Oftalmologia Pediatrica) and the WSPOS (World Society of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus), Safilo created a specific product to meet children’s key needs in terms of eyewear:

  • DURABLE AND LIGHTWEIGHT ~ They do not weigh on the nose, they don’t hurt behind the ears, and they are never tiring, even if worn all day. Resistant to perspiration and dirt.
  • STABLE AND SAFE ~ For kids who play, jump, run and have to much to do.  Always firm on the nose, whatever the situation.  No metal parts or exposed hinges,
  • EASY ON THE EYES ~ For little ones who want to amke their own choices.  Fun and colourful glasses with fronts designed to adequately cover their field of vision and ensure proper eyesight.
  • RESISTANCE ~ frames are made with flexible, stable and washable materials to prevent them from becoming deformed or weakened.

Not my son but my nephew does. His eyes actually see things in 3 D inverted and thankfully it is correcting itself slightly instead of deteriorating . He was around 7 when they finally realized what was wrong .
