Tis’ The Season
The holidays are filled with baking and I enjoy every bit of it.
Sometimes it can get to be a little too much between all the events and activities so when I can make something as simple as these Christmas Tree cupcakes, I jump at the chance. The first time I saw them, I knew I would be able to fit them in to the busy schedule. I think it’s so cute to top the buttercream trees with a star and to “trim” them with some sprinkles.
Perfect for the holidays!

Sure, you can have the recipe. I try new buttercream and chocolate cake recipes all time. Sometimes I have a hard time remembering which ones I use for each cake or cupcake. It's funny beacause I almost always bake from scratch and this was very last minute so I whipped out a box cake *blush*. But for a scratch chocolate cake recipe I like http://www.hersheys.com/recipes/184/HERSHEY'S%20%22PERFECTLY%20CHOCOLATE%22%20Chocolate%20Cake.aspx . It's quick and easy to put together and tastes great. The buttercream Recipe I'm not a hundred percent sure which one I used. I had it in my fridge from a previous cake. I think it is this one,
Buttercream Dream Ingredients 1 stick butter (unsalted) (1/2 cup) 1 stick butter (salted) (1/2 cup) 1 cup shortening 2lb bag of confectioner’s sugar 3 teaspoons vanilla extract 5-6 tablespoons of milk (cold) Instructions Cream butter and shortening together for a few minutes. Add vanilla extract then add confectioner’s sugar. Allow confectioner’s sugar to blend well then add milk. For thinner consistency, add more than 6 tablespoons of milk.
I hope that helps, happy caking! Erna
