Does your child have long, luscious locks, or a short, cropped coiffure? Either way, with all of the summer time activities around pools, playgrounds and dirt, caring for your child’s hair during these hot summer months can be tricky.
6 SUMMER TIPS FOR CARING FOR YOUR CHILD’S HAIR
DON’T WASH YOUR CHILD’S HAIR TOO OFTEN – while it might be tempting to wash all the pool water and grime out of your child’s hair every day, too much washing can strip your child’s hair from essential nutrients causing hair to be damaged or dry.
PULL THE HAIR BACK – you can prevent tangles and frizzy hair frustration by using Goody Ouchless products. Pull back the hair into a tight ponytail or braid with a wide variety of Goody Ouchless Elastics preventing the locks from flying everywhere in the wind or water and keep hairstyles looking better longer. This is one of our favorite hairdo’s for around the pool or lake:
DON’T “RIP” OUT TANGLES – tangled hair can be a pain! Don’t rip through tangles when combing or brushing. Even though it will take a little longer, use a designated tangle fix brush or other wide bristled brush like the Goody Ouchless Girls Cushion Brush, to get through those locks.
COMB/BRUSH OFTEN – even with short hair it is important to comb/brush the hair and scalp often to keep circulation going.
SUNSCREEN – it may seem funny, but a burnt hair parting is not! Apply leftover sunscreen from your hands to parts of the scalp that are exposed after your child’s hair is pulled back so there is no danger in burning.
CHOP IT! – this might sound extreme, but summer is a great time for kids to try a new, shorter hairstyle. If your hair is long enough, consider donating it to be made into wigs for cancer patients. Of course, you and your child will need to learn how to style and take care of this new do, but Goody can help with their many different types of clips, headbands and bobby pins.
