CAMPING HACKS FOR FAMILIES

There is almost nothing better than a fun family camping trip – even in your own back yard!

When many people think camping, they think of the fun-filled days at the river, lazy afternoons relaxing in a hammock, spending the evening roasting marshmallows and telling stories around the fire and then snuggling into a cozy sleeping bag at night.

While this is the ideal situation, family camping trips aren’t always that simple.

The truth is, sometimes they can get downright stressful.

If you want to ensure that your next camping trip is as stress-free, relaxing and focused on fun as the above scenario, there are several camping hacks for families that can help.

PREPARE SNACKS AND MEALS

Do as much food prep as possible before you leave on your family camping trip.

This makes sure that all the food is as close to ready to eat as possible while you still having running water to wash vegetables, cutting boards, and other utensils.

The fewer items you have to prep at the campsite will make camping much less stressful.

BRING GLOW STICKS

If you want to add a little light to your tent without it being too bright, glow sticks are a great idea.

Hang a few in your tent and you will be able to see just enough if you need to get up in the middle of the night.

USE A RUG

When you are camping, especially with young kids, dirt can be an issue.

No one wants to get into the tent only to realize it is sandy and dirty inside.

If you want to cut down on the dirt and sand that gets inside your tent, bring a small indoor/outdoor rug for the inside and outside of your tent.

Having the ability to wipe your feet before entering your tent will keep things much cleaner.

BRING EXTRA BLANKETS

Whether it is warm, and you want a picnic blanket or cold and the kids need some extra snuggle power to stay warm, there is always a use for extra blankets.

Don’t forget to bring a bunch along on your trip, you won’t regret it.

PACK BABY WIPES

While you may think of infants when baby wipes come into play, that is just not true.

Baby wipes are not just for teeny tiny little bums, they work for a wide variety of things.

Not only will baby wipes help you keep everything moderately clean from hands to faces but they are perfect for bathroom breaks in the woods.

There are so many camping hacks for families out there that can help to relieve some of the stress associated with your trip.

Just make sure to prepare snacks and meals in advance, bring glow sticks, use a rug, always have extra blankets and pack baby wipes.

Happy camping!
