Our camera is on it’s way out! It randomly turns off, it needs tape to hold it together. You get the idea.
Since I love to put pictures with my posts, and since I post very regularly I have decided to take the plunge and purchase a new camera (I have been saving for a while). I really want to get a good camera, but also want to be wise with how much money I spend.
Would you please give me any camera advice you have. Good camera’s, bad ones…I’d love your opinion!

Mine is a Nikon D40 with an 18-55mm lens. My only regret is that I didn't purchase one sooner! I bought mine refurbished through Amazon's warehouse site. The camera and lens came to $350 at the time. I've had it for about a year and a half now. It's fabulous! I especially love how it instantly takes photos with NO lag time whatsoever. That was a major pet peeve of mine with other cameras. Very easy to use! Good luck with your search!

That is exactly the description of my camera LOL! It is taped together and turns off at weird times and sometimes has weird lines across the screen. I need advice too!

Canons are my favourite - found them easy to use - the Powershot is very good and not too many functions and you can leave home without the manual and still take photos. The screens can vary in size - you may prefer a larger screen (to preview your photos) - my husband does. Wishing you all the best.

We take A LOT of pictures and use 3 different cameras - a Canon Rebel (fancy schmancy), a Canon Powershot (I carry this around in my pocket all day every day), and the Olympus waterproof someone mentioned above. We use this during the summer since we spend so much time in the ocean. :) I've been quite pleased with all these cameras and would recommend any of them! Hope this helps!

Mel, Thanks so much for the advice. We are really hoping to spend LESS than $400 with taxes and such!
Any more suggestions?
