Color Crazy Crayons

So what do you do with all of these broken crayons?
Why have a date night of course (keep reading)!

During the day Snow White helped me
peel all these crayons.
She enjoyed it.
I did NOT!

Then we sorted them into colors.
Snow White LOST INTEREST.
So, after the girls were in bed,
Prince Charming and I decided to make this
crazy color crayon thing a Date night.
He loved smashing and breaking the crayons
and I loved placing them in greased tins
(this neat tin I found at a second hand store.
Anyone know what it is really for?)
We enjoyed watching them melt in the
275 degrees oven for 8 minutes.

Then we carefully took them out and let them cool.
A few did not want to come out of the pan,
so we stuck the pan in the freezer for 10 minutes
and they popped out like a charm!
Now wont this be a wonderful basket
to have ready on the art shelf in the morning!
I sure want to COLOR with them!

Don’t worry,
I did save some crayons to let the children do a few.
I’m sure they will just LOVE watching them melt!

This super idea came from a magazine in my doctor’s office about 5 months ago. I was reminded of it when I saw it again HERE

Very cute - I like how they are like rings. I made regular recycled crayons in muffin tins for my son's 2nd birthday but they came out too waxy. Your look ALOT nicer - great job! :)

That pan looks like a doughnut pan to me - you can make baked donuts in the oven...yum!!
