Belle is working and concentrating hard on putting beads onto the string. This activity was much harder than the other beading she has done since this uses a thin shoelace instead of a rope and the beads are also smaller. This is a great fine motor activity.
Belle worked with the beads for 10 minutes before moving on to something else.
the beads were quickly picked up by another child who was ready to start working.

Oh,we have similar set of beads, and my daughter plays with it from time to time for 4 years now!In the begining it was fine motor skills practicing, and later and now it is combining colors, sizes, making bracelets and neclaces. Now at the age of 5 1/2 she strings even small beads and makes jewelry she can actualy wear. It was so good ppractice, she can even string a needle!

Shelle, I bet your son would like it! It sure is a hit at our place!
Raven, yes it is the Melissa and Doug set. I just make sure I observe when Belle works with it just in case she would out a bead in her mouth. Always better to be safe!

Is that the Melissa and Doug set? We have that one and love it. Pearl is on to small beads now, but my 18 month-old might be getting ready for these nice wooden ones.

Ooo that looks like something my son would like. He loves to play with blocks, stringing beads would be something different for him!
Happy SITS Saturday!!
