Being parents to young children, date nights are a must. Just having time as a couple can rejuvenate your relationship. But let’s face it. There isn’t always time or money (or willing hands to watch the kids) to make date night a full blown event. So hubby and I have started having date nights at home.
3 Great At-Home Date Ideas
#1. Game Night ~ We love to play games and have a bunch of different favorite ones. Chips are a favorite snack for a lot of people when they think of game nights. But why not try something different and healthier for you? Twistos Backed Snack Crackers are less than 100 calories per serving and are packed with flavor! Add a can of Pepsi or a glass of wine and you have a great game night snack.
#2. Supper “out” at Home ~ During this spring-like weather, the kids are heading outside more to play. Chances are after running around in the fresh spring air after 4 months of cold winter, they will be exhausted. Take this opportunity to put them to bed a little earlier, set the table with nice dishes and wine glasses and order in your favorite meal. Ours is Chinese. Or if you want to instead, cook up something special together. Enjoy the opportunity to talk in peace and enjoy the quiet together.
#3. Movie Night ~ Sometimes after a busy day/week, there is no energy for games or well thought out dinners. In that case a movie night is the perfect solution. Whether you rent one from the video store, watch a movie on-line or have PVR’d one during the week, movie night is the perfect time to sit down as a couple, forget about work and parenting troubles for 2 hours and laugh or cry together. During a movie, popcorn is a must, but why not try the Twistos Baked Snack Bites. These snack bites come in 4 great flavors — Parmesan & Garlic, Bruschetta, Asiago and the brand-new Balsamic Vinegar & Olive Oil flavor. The Bruschetta flavor is our favorite and makes a great partner to a movie.
