Writing a story

Today the children wanted to cut pictures out of a stack of magazines that one of the mother’s brought.
I thought this would be a great opportunity to try out “writing a story” (Tim Seldin bring
up this idea in his book “How to raise an amazing child the Montessori way”).
How this works is that the children cut out a picture (or a few pictures) and they tell you about the story. You write down word for word what the child says. The child is also encouraged to print their name or make a mark indicating that they are the author!

Snow White enjoyed this activity so much that she decided to make a book and a one page write up!

Great idea. I keep a stack of magazines around for my daughter to look through and cut up. We will have to add this activity to our to-do list.

Thank you for posting this! I really like this idea, it is quite creative and can stimulate ideas for the children.
