What Easter means to me!

This is NOT a review or endorsement. Just something I wanted to share!

For this week’s FUN FRIDAY I decided to post about Easter. Yes, the story of Jesus’ death, resurrection and ascension.
I have always wanted our girls to know that Easter was not just about chocolate and the Easter bunny. (I like those things, but that is not what I want my girls to think about when they hear the word Easter). Since our girls are 1 & 4 I struggled with how my husband and I could share this story with them in a way that they could grasp.
I found these Resurrection Eggs and figured it would be a great way to involve our girls in the Easter story.

What are Resurrection Eggs?

Resurrection Eggs are plastic eggs with objects in each one that help children understand the true meaning of Easter.

Each egg is a different color and holds a different hands-on illustration that helps children to grasp the truths of the scripture.

We plan to use these eggs in the 12 days leading up to Easter. This set comes with a little book that has a scripture and a little explanation (story) for each egg.
I hope that this becomes a family tradition in our home!
These eggs can also be used in a fun Easter egg hunt or as a trivia quiz and even as a devotional time.
I decided to do this post today so that it may inspire you or encourage you to tell your kids about the Easter story. If you are wanting to purchase this set they are made by Family Life. You can get to the direct link to where they can be purchased HERE.

I do not profit in any way from this post. I was not asked to do this review. I just wanted to share this resource with you! God bless.

Do you do something special with your children to celebrate Easter?

What a great idea! This is something I'll have to look into next year for sure - when my little guy is a bit older and can understand. Thanks for sharing on the linky!

I have loved this idea for years...as a retired teacher at a secular pre-school, I was excited when a 4yr. old brought these for 'show and tell'. She stood there and told the entire Easter story. What a joy! Our 'show and tell' could be anything that fit in their backpack - and no toys. I now have these for my grandchildren. Love, love, love them.

What a great idea. Years ago I helped a church activity and we did something similar but I forgot what was in them. I am thankful you posted this so I have time to pull something like this together. Thanks!!
