Picky eaters – the bane of every mother’s existence. Whether your child refuses to eat fruits and veggies or only wants to eat mac & cheese for dinner every night, it can be hard to get kids to finish their lunches.
6 WAYS TO GET KIDS TO FINISH THEIR LUNCHES
#1) USE COOKIE CUTTERS – find some small cookie cutters that will interest your child (hearts, airplanes, animals etc.) and use them to cut food into fun shapes. Your child will love eating all the different shapes.
#2) CHANGE UP THE FOOD SHAPE – Instead of the typical carrot sticks, try cutting your child’s carrots into round circles to create “Carrot Dollars”. Sometimes just switching up the shape of the food will gain your child’s interest.
#3) PRESENTATION – Use bright coloured silicone muffin cups to divide different foods. This will make your child’s lunch look more fun to eat. Or try making a face out of their sandwich or food in their lunch.
#4) ADD DELICIOUS SNACKS – Adding snacks like Mott’s Fruitsations + Veggie fruit flavoured snacks will get your kids eating with goodness you can trust! These fruit flavoured snacks are not your typical gummie treat. Made with fruit and vegetable juice from concentrate and no artificial flavours and colours, they are perfect for the lunch kit or snack on the go.
#5) SNEAK VEGGIES INTO YOUR DISHES – By adding zucchini and other vegetables to muffins your child will be eating healthier without even knowing it.
#6) GET KIDS INVOLVED – During the meal planning or shopping experience, allow your children to help pick out a new fruit and vegetable to try. Often kids are more open to trying new items if the idea comes from them.
What are some creative ways you have to get your kids eating mom-approved lunches? How do you convince picky eaters to eat their whole lunch?
