Turning Family Moments Into Memories That Last A Lifetime At Disney’s Magic Kingdom

Our girls were two and four;  the age of enlightenment, as I like to say.

Their love for princesses was blossoming and dreams of meeting a real live princess were talked about continuously by four-year-old Kate.

I dreamed right along-side her. I never had the opportunity to visit a Disney Park as a child, so the excitement of being able to go was one our whole family could barely contain.

From the moment we told our daughters about our decision to visit Walt Disney World until the very moment we walked through the Magic Kingdom gates, Kate made it clear that she wanted to meet a princess. Not just any princess. It had to be Snow White, the beautiful princess with black hair, just like her mommy. Hearing Kate say those words over and over created a moment that will be etched in my memory forever.

Upon our arrival we were told there would be a line by the castle and that Snow White would appear in 10 minutes.  Luck, however, was on our side because we were first in line.  To Kate the wait seemed like a life time, but the moment Snow White made her grand entrance made every moment worth waiting for. Kate was speechless and we could see the sparkle in her eyes…her dream had come true right in front of us.  The look on her face was of pure joy. When a parent sees magic come alive in their child’s eyes, it is something very special, something no words can ever quite describe.

I consider myself blessed that we were all a part of that memory. There is so much to do and see at the Disney Parks. If this one very small moment from our family trip to the Magic Kingdom made a lifelong memory for us, one can only imagine what memories you can make by taking a Disney vacation in 2013.

Investing in our children and our family is something that is very important. Family fun nights are a weekly occurrence in our home and although time has passed since our magical visit, the discussions and memories have not faded. Family fun nights often include looking through the photos of our magical family trip.

Moments pass by in the blink of an eye. 2013 is a great year to make dreams come true.

I think every family that visits a Disney park needs the obligatory photo in front of the castle, no matter the weather (looks like rain?) It's just a must-do!!

I agree, it is a must have photo, rain or shine! (Yes, it was rain in our case). Right after we took this photo we saw a guy propose to his girlfriend in front of the castle.

My daughter too met Snow White as her very first princess there and it was a perfect memory. We are planning a trip for this spring and are so excited! Hope you get to go back soon. Disney was a huge part of my childhood!

Love the photos! We can't wait to take our little guy there for the first time. I have a feeling that once we take him once, we're going to want to go every year. :)
