TIPS TO STAY ORGANIZED AS A MOM

Many moms try to be the kind of mom that may as well wear a superhero costume.  That’s how organized and put together they are.

The good news is that you don’t require magic powers or a cape to be more organized.

There are many clever ways to stay organized as a mom, and you don’t have to go crazy trying.

GET YOURSELF READY FIRST

Try to get up at least 15 – 20 minutes before your kids do in the morning and start your morning routine.

This will allow you time to get a head start to your day before your kids are awake.

START DINNER IN ADVANCE

While mornings are super busy, preparing for dinner early can make for a much easier evening.

Make a weekly meal plan every weekend and get food prep done every morning.

Wash vegetables, shred the cheese, cut up fruits and make salad dressings.

This will help to ensure that you are organized by the time dinner comes.

SCHEDULE TIME TO PROCRASTINATE

I know this sounds silly, but even busy moms require some down downtime occasionally.

If you don’t have any time to yourself during the week, it’s easy to burn out from to do list overload.

This will make it less easy to remain organized.

Schedule yourself some me time to forget about the hefty list of things you have to do and watch a TV show or read a book every once in a while.

CARRY AROUND A NOTEBOOK

Take a small notebook with you everywhere you go.

This will help to make sure that if you get a phone call from another mom about an event or play date, you will be able to write it down.

Then go back through the notebook in the evening and add any important things to your calendar all at once.

KNOW WHEN TO SAY NO

Never feel as though you have to say yes to everything.

Helping at the school, playdates, bake sales and babysitting can all drive you crazy, especially when you are already attempting to maintain a busy schedule.

If you know that something isn’t going to fit easily in with your schedule, simply say no before you overburden yourself.

There are many ways to ensure that you stay organized as a mom.

Get yourself ready first, start dinner in the morning, schedule time to relax, carry around a notebook and know when to say no.

All of these things will help to ensure that you aren’t overburdened and remain organized.
