Simple "Baking"

This afternoon while the other children were napping Snow White asked if she could bake.

Here is the recipe:

Traditional No-Bake Cookies – from Mary & Martha’s Stirrin’ Up Chocolate & Joy
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup milk
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa
1 cup peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups oats

Combine first 4 ingredients in large saucepan. Bring to a rolling boil. Boil for 3 minutes (do not over boil) and add peanut butter, vanilla and oats.
Drop onto sheets of waxed paper. Let cool until firm.
Store in airtight container in a cool dry place!

(Yummy, but too much sugar for our munchkins…Daddy brought them to work for his friends!)

Jeannine,

I have tried some recipes with less sugar - sometimes I use applesauce or a bit of honey.

Do you have any suggestions?

Jody

Have you ever found a way to alter the recipe to be more kid friendly? (ie. less sugar?)
