Healthy eating, essential oils and pictures of my disease – Hidradenitis suppurativa

Many of you know that our family has been on a health journey this year. I already shared that I have lost 65 pounds and my husband Trevor has lost 35 pounds.

The one thing I have not shared yet is my ugly diagnosis of Hidradenitis suppurativa.

Hidradenitis suppurativa is an autoimmune disease – one that many people suffer with for their whole life.

It is a painful disease, and truthfully, an embarrassing one. The sores are very painful, they look awful and they create sinus’ that leak and smell.

Many people have surgery or spend their lives on antibiotics trying to fight this beast of a disease – sadly there is no cure. Many people go into isolation because of the disease.

I decided to use my diagnosis as a wake up call. The weight loss has been a bonus, but truly, feeling healthier is the best part.

I eat well, I do not have “cheat days” and I use my essential oils faithfully. My disease no longer defines me.

The before picture below was not at the worst stage, I wish I would have taken a photo when it was at it’s worst, but truthfully I hates the way it looked and did not think of taking a picture at that time.

I am not saying that everyone who eats healthy and uses essential oils will cure all their diseases, and I am not saying I am cured. I am just sharing my story, my experiences.

My story is long from over – this is just my journey so far.

You can follow along with my food journey on Instagram and if you are interested in joining a private Facebook group that my husband and I have, you are welcome! “Essential Oils with Trevor and Jody

This post is in NO WAY sponsored – it is my personal journey and story.

Hi there! I recently have been doing more research and have been dealing with what they told me was just MRSA and abscesses. This all started back in August of 2015. Luckily I haven’t had any “outbreaks” for awhile until 2 weeks ago. Now there back in full bloom. They started in my armpits and moved to my groin areas and around my c section scar. I’m very interested in how you finally got a diagnosis and what tests they did. Are you on any medication daily or just using the melaleuca when they start? If you’re able to share with me I would so gladly appreciate it!!

I have been flare-up free for quite some time now. I do not take any meds, I use doTerra melaleuca (tea tree) as needed. I walk everyday and try to eat healthy as well.

Ladies! I can’t even tell you how encouraging this has been! My 15 year old daughter is not only overweight, but also suffers from Hs. She’s has two now that have opened. It’s super scarey and painful for her. I was just placing my DoTerra oil order and this post came up in a google search I did for HS and oils. You all are literally a direct answer to prayer! We are about to start clean eating or keto this summer and I’m going to start melaleuca immediately on her! Thank you!! Maria
