Our anniversary and a QUESTION!

Just a quick note to let everyone know that I will not be posting until next week Tuesday or Wednesday. We will be gone away (our anniversary) with our girls.
I would love comments on a question I have though…
We will be sending our daughter to an all French school in the fall of 2010 and so we will be putting her in the pre-Kindergarten program 2 mornings a week this next fall 2009 to get her introduced to the language (There are no Montessori schools near where we live). She will continue Montessori Preschool at home 3 afternoons a week. We only speak English, so I am wondering if any readers have tips for us.
Thanks

Thanks for your advice. She has been going to the French pre-maternelle twice a week and starts full day-everyday maternelle (kindergarten) next year. She LOVES it so far!

Hi! From my personal experience of going from immersion elementary to an all french elemetary until high school, and then an immersion high school, I found i was about 2 years ahead of everyone when i went into immersion (in the french class, but the same with every other class). I didnt speak french at all at home, but it didnt matter. My parents could still help with the homework and speak to the teachers. If it had been possible i wouldve done it all french all the way. you dont lack anything in english but you know so much more. I found the french schools to teach way more montesorri ways then the immersion.

This is the way i will do it with my 2 kids. there is sooo much english in an immersion school that it doesnt even compare.

Good luck!
