OPI Sheer Tints

OPI Sheer Tints nail art

When I first got this set of four sheer tints polishes I have to admit wasn’t too excited. I don’t normally use light nail polishes on my nails because since I paint my nails all the time they are a little yellow (actually a lot).  I have pictures of a few of them just on my nail with no colours underneath and I think that they might look a little better on someone who doesn’t do their nails as much as I do.

OPI Sheer Tints

The colours in the OPI Sheer Tints collection are:

  •  Blue – I Can Teal You Like Me
  • Pink/Red – Be Magentale With Me
  • Orange – I’m Never Amberrassed
  • Purple – Don’t Violet Me Down

Next I wanted to see how they would look with another colour underneath. This is where it gets fun. I don’t know about you, but when I was a kid I absolutely loved mixing paint and making new colours that I didn’t have. This is what you get to do when you start layering them on top of other colours, you create colours you don’t already have! How cool is that?!

OPI Sheer Tints blue over

This picture is don’t Violet Me Down on top of a light blue I own and I liked creating a new unique colour by applying the purple over the blue.

I also did a quick easy design with a light brown colour with Don’t Violet me down on top.

The formula for these polishes is very gooey and seemed more thick than they needed to be. Make sure your layers aren’t too thick when applying the coats and rather do two thins coats than one thicker coat because bubbles will be guaranteed to appear.

My conclusion is that alone they aren’t super hot, but layers = a ton of fun. By only adding four new bottles of polish to your collection you can have many more new colours!

I don't think they look great by themselves but are great to modify other colours of polish!

These look like they'd be so fun to experiment with, for nail art and over other colors!
