Neighborhood Christmas Party

We had a wonderful evening. It was our first neighborhood Christmas Party. We live on a street that is only 1 block long, so one of our neighbors decided to host an adult Christmas Party for people living on our street.

I just have to say it was a brilliant idea. I mean I wave at my neighbors, or say hi if we are outside at the same time, but this was great. I can not believe how many wonderful people live right here on our street.

The hosts supplied drinks and everyone that came was asked to bring an appetizer or a dessert. There was a fabulous assortment of foods to please anyone.

Personally it was great to get away from our renovations for an evening. It was wonderful to laugh and enjoy this holiday season with our neighbors. I am hoping this becomes an annual tradition.

Do you have a neighborhood party? Do you know your neighbors?

Never been to one. Since my country is of mixed cultures so not everyone celebrates our great occassion. We do celebrate Chinese New Year though, with a neighbourhood party, but it's catered. Good thing is that everyone chips in for the catering fees and we invite an orphanage to eat, be merry, and get red packets!

I'd so love to have a neighbourhood adult party.

What a wonderful idea! I live in a very old neighborhood. Most of the tennants are the original owners from the early 50's!! They used to host a party every year but stopped once they started getting older. My neighbors will pull out old photos of Christmases past and I just get lost in their stories. We get along with our neighbors really well and maybe one year we'll host a party just like old times!0

Glad you had a great time at the neighborhood party. We have one coming up soon, too.

Wanted to let you know that I mentioned both the gourmet gift basket giveaway and the cottage dollhouse giveaway in my blog post, but did not want to leave a comment in the giveaway section for the dollhouse, as we don't have any little girls here who would treasure the dollhouse, so I did not want to comment on the off chance that we would win, as this needs to go to a family with a little girl or a couple girls. What an awesome prize though. If I was less than age 8, I would love to win this!!!

Here is my blog post, though...http://sunriselearninglab.blogspot.com/2010/12/delicious-discounts-fabulous-freebies.html

Hope that you are enjoying your weekend. Had some yummy soup for dinner. am trying to broaden my liquid diet...thinking of doing something with sweet potatoes tomorrow. Talk to you soon, my friend:)

No parties here. We know our neighbours but don't know them if you know what I mean. We are all friendly and there for one another (the perks of the life we live) but we don't actually hang out or have parties together.
