Mondays Montessori Moment

We had a very busy birthday weekend at our home. The second party (the family one) just ended and I am getting this post ready.

Honestly, I’m feeling quiet emotional tonight – not sure if it is the fact that our firstborn is now 5, or that I wished I connected better with family, or that I feel like I have too many commitments and not enough time. Anyway, I’m just being real with my readers. I know we all have rough/tough days, so why be afraid to share?

Since my girls are not the only children in our home during the day I sometimes find it difficult to post about all the activities the children did because they can not be pictured. I’ve found this more difficult this week as our older daughter is in school and I can not post pics of the other child. Any tips for me in this regard?

Here are some of the pictures I did get!

Pulling petals off a dead flower – great fine motor work!
Greasing and Flouring a cake pan – practical life.

Hammering pegs

sandpaper numbers (with child’s own extension)
Some of the other activities from this week included:
  • Russian nesting dolls
  • collecting items for nature table (rocks & pine cones)
  • learning about the body (using HUGE body book, 3 part cards, and our beleduc body puzzle and many books)
  • playing “emotion” game and lesson in grace and courtesy
  • stringing beads
  • tweezing sprinkles
  • coloring
  • practicing violin
  • putting together a lego stable using the picture step-by-step guide
  • painting
  • the lock box
  • hanging bead stair 1-9
Sorry, no link-up today although you are welcome to leave links in the comment section about the Montessori/homeschool posts you have from the week.
You can always link up your Montessori posts at One Hook Wonder too!

Thank you for still writing a list of the activities even without pictures. Would you be able to take pics of just their hands or the work without the child and post those? I try hard not to put Bear in my photos. Thank you for sharing how overextended you feel. i often wonder how on earth you manage to be a mom, own a little school, and keep up your fantastic blog. I hope your rough patch passes soon.
