Moms need to keep their “Me Tanks” Fueled up! #HealthyFamilies

In the summer the little ones tend to spend a lot of time playing outside. Unfortunately, they also tend to bring most of the outside, inside when they are done playing.
All I can think about is the good ole Beatles song “Help”.
I would like to offer my thoughts on what has helped keep me sane during these summer months… its all about me.  (No matter how cute the kids are, moms still need a break!)

So what does that mean… its all about me?!?

Well every girl needs a little “me time”. After sweeping the floors more times than I can count (ok, maybe not that many, but you get the point) I just need a little time for myself. Sometime this includes a reading a good book or simply heading out of coffee with a good friend while hubby plays with the kids.

I think this is something that we all take for granted sometimes. As moms we need to be more aware of when our “me tanks” need fueling.

If you are starting to dread the extra cleaning or are beginning to feel short tempered, or just feel completely overwhelmed these are sure signs you need to make it a priority to get some “me time”.

For some people, “me time” is also be the motivation that keeps them going. Sometimes setting goals throughout the day will help.  Even if its a simple nap, a chance to read the paper or have some time on the computer as a reward for completing your cleaning schedule, it’s ok!

For myself I know that I need that “me time”.  And not just once a year. “Me Time” happens often around here!

So be brave moms, remember that you are needed.  Your family loves you and you need to love yourself.  Take care of yourself and be sure to get that “me time”.

How often do you get your “Me Tanks” fueled up? What do you do?
