Making Memories with Minnie Mouse #FisherPriceMoms

As a parent, there are a few experiences that we will not forget as we look back on some of the expression that our children will have.  Recognizing themselves in a picture, coming home with their first successful project from school, or simply saying “mommy”.  But the moment they get that toy they love with the character they adore, that is something we can all appreciate.

Being a Fisher-Price mom has given me the joy of blessing my children with toys that we might not have ordinarily gotten.  But when my youngest daughter gets something that has Minnie Mouse on it, it is probably the equivalent of me getting a check for a million dollars.  Why is it that when you place a child’s favorite character on a toy it becomes more magical to that child?  This is what I call the age of innocence.  At this stage a child’s favorite character can turn any less than perfect day into a glorious one and the toy can whisk you away to a magical land where all the world is right.

In the last shipment we got from Fisher-Price, there was a Minnie Mouse figurine with a matching scooter.  Once my daughter got over the joy of having another Minnie Mouse (with a pink matching scooter no less) and had several minutes to play with it, she had an epiphany.  Our three year old felt the need to call her great aunt at that very minute.  When she finally did get to talk to her on the phone she invited her over to so she could see her scooter that she felt looked just like hers.  I love the fact that toys which seem so life like to her can help bridge the relationship between a 3 year old and a ??? year old (I refuse to release the age due to placing great value on my life ).

This is a reminder that no matter how young the child or how elementary the toy, children want you enter into their universe.  And why wouldn’t we.  Let’s get down on the ground and have a therapeutic intervention with our children, with the child as the therapist.
