These DIY ice cream cone cupcakes are easy to make using your favorite cake batter. Make them from scratch or a box, it’s completely up to you!
Ice cream cone cupcakes bring back so many childhood memories. I remember my mom making these and thinking it was such a special treat. She never went quite as fancy but I enjoyed them just the same.
How to Make Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes
- Try not to fill the ice cream cones too full with cake batter because they will spill over and make a big mess in your oven (speaking from experience).
- I baked the cones in cupcake tins but they are still wobbly so be careful not to spill.
- Dipping the cones in melted chocolate and adding some sprinkles is an easy way to add a little fun.
- Top with some buttercream and a cherry and you have a cupcake worthy of the beach!

I piped the frosting on with wilton tip #12. Any large tip will work though!

Hi Erma! Your ice cream cone cupcakes look divine! My question, how did you keep the chocolate on the cones from melting everywhere during the bake time? I would love to make these for my daughters 4th b-day! Thanks!

Hi Briana, I baked the cupcakes first and then after they had cooled I dipped them in the chocolate and covered with sprinkles. Have fun, I'm sure you daughter will love them!
