These Honey BBQ Baked Chicken Wings are a super yummy and easy option that is ideal for game day or simply for a yummy snack.
Your family will love the delicious flavor, and you’ll love making them without all the fuss of deep frying.
HONEY BBQ BAKED CHICKEN WINGS
I have always been a fan of chicken wings, but deep frying is not only higher in calories, but so messy. Are you looking for a way to make BBQ chicken wings in oven instead of deep frying?
Discovering that I could make these delicious baked chicken wings and still have all the flavor, was amazing.
I also love that if I am making these on a day when we have company coming, I don’t have to stand over the stove for a long time. I can simply throw this together and tend them in the oven as they cook.
So easy!
This recipe serves 4-5
INGREDIENTS
- 2 pounds of chicken wings, drumettes and wingettes only, cleaned and patted dry
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of Smoked Paprika
- 2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoon of Butter
- ¼ cup of Honey
- ¼ cup of BBQ Sauce
- Chives or Green Onion slices to garnish
HOW TO BAKE CHICKEN WINGS IN THE OVEN
#1) Toss the chicken wings with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder and 2 tablespoons of oil
#2) Preheat the oven to 400 F and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet. Grease the foil and the wire rack. Or you can use a well-greased broiler pan.
#3) Arrange the chicken wings on the wire rack or the broiler pan. Bake for 40 minutes, turning once till the chicken is cooked through and golden.
#4) Meanwhile, to make the sauce, in a small saucepan melt the butter, over low heat. Add barbecue sauce and honey and bring to a simmer. Let it thicken for 5 minutes and then remove from heat.
#5) Toss the baked wings in the sauce, making sure that the wings are well coated.
#6) Transfer it back to the wire rack or broiler pan and bake it again for 20 minutes, turning once in between.
#7) You might want to broil it for the last 2 minutes, with the skin side up to crisp it further.
#8) Serve immediately garnished with sliced green onion or chives and Ranch dipping sauce.
