Bridal showers are a fun tradition that originated in the 1890s as a way for family and friends to give gifts and well wishes.
Planning a surprise bridal shower is a lot of fun. This GARDEN THEMED BRIDAL SHOWER is perfect for summer brides! Thanks Jaycia for sharing this beautiful bridal shower with us!
GARDEN THEMED BRIDAL SHOWER
For this garden themed bridal shower, we were blessed with a beautiful evening, so it was held outdoors.
I love the look of coral, gold & creams – so I decided to throw that all together for this shower!
I LOVE to decorate! Decorating is a way for me to be creative & spill all the ideas that fill my brain!
My husband, Mike, says that watching me prepare for party exhausts him – but it truly energizes me! I LOVE IT!
The lace backdrop is from my wedding (3 1/2 years ago) and it has been used in countless weddings & showers since then!
It’s so simple to make, (just white wooden rods with a variety of cream & white strips of lace and other fabrics) and yet it’s so beautiful with the perfect feminine touch!
The lace backdrop was also used as a backdrop for an impromptu photo booth session!
We kicked into high gear just a few minutes before the Bride-to-Be arrived, and made a bunch of photo booth props!
So much fun!
I love the blend of rustic wood slabs, logs, greens, lace & flowers!
The cupcakes on the wood slabs was one of my favourite details, but a few simple things like a homemade banner, baby’s breath, lace & wood can go a long way to make an event beautiful!
BRIDAL SHOWER FOOD
I like to use cupcakes to add a cute spark of colour to the table.
From bacon-wrapped water chestnuts, to colourful veggie platter, scrumptious coconut chocolate fudge squares and colorful cupcakes – the table was full of goodies to indulge in!

Thanks to Jaycia for sharing this bridal shower post with us. Here is a little about her… My name is Jaycia Koop – I’m 25 years old, and loving life – especially in the summer! In fall, I’ll be heading into my 4th of 5 years of university – in pursuit of my dream to become a teacher! My hope is to teach munchkins anywhere from K-Grade 4! For the summer, I got a sweet job – coordinating the Education program at the Mennonite Heritage Museum in Steinbach, which allows me to combine my love for teaching, kids, creativity & learning all in one job!
I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Mike, for 3 1/2 years, and even though he doesn’t understand the love, energy & passion I get when I pour creativity into events like weddings & showers, he lets me ‘go to town’! (Our small condo is sometimes a bit overwhelmed with my decor ‘stuff’!)
I love being artsy-fartsy with crafts, painting, scrapbooking, decorating, singing and writing! Creative outlets are what makes me thrive and reenergize!
