When your kids are young, the main caregiver in their lives is generally you as a parent. You are the one that will spend the most time with them throughout the day, teaching them and preparing them for life.
But once your little one enters the first grade, you are no longer the one that they see for the majority of the day. So how do you say THANK YOU to that special person in your child’s life?

I have found that teachers love gifts that they can actually use – that and gift cards. So for the last 2 years, my kids and I have put together summer relaxation gift buckets for their teachers.
The supplies are simple:
- a bucket or basket from the dollar store
- beach towel
- magazine
- fun insulated cup
- summer drink
- gift card
You can easily customize these buckets with some of your child’s teacher’s favorite items. Have your child do a little bit of snooping by asking pointed questions about favorite colors, drinks or favorite magazines.
Add a card from you expressing how much you have appreciated the effort they have put in throughout the school year. This would also make a great gift idea for a daycare worker or favorite babysitter.
(My kids’ teachers have been females until this point, but this bucket idea could be a great gift for male teachers too)
