Calling all chocolate lovers! Here is a cookie that has a thick chewy chocolate cookie base and is filled with white chocolate chips, the reverse of a chocolate chip cookie!
We have a family friend who is obsessed with chocolate and I make these for her every time she comes over because there is nothing like a fresh chocolate cookie (except maybe a homemade peanut butter cookie!) to satisfy a craving. I was making them again to share with her over the holidays and decided to share the recipe with the rest of you too, so you can make them for your own chocolate loving friends. (or eat them all yourself, I’m not judging)

This is a very simple cookie recipe, and it won’t take you long to master it. The dough is a little on the thicker side, but that is good because our cookies will bake nice and thick and chewy. When I pull them out of the oven at eight minutes it often seems like they aren’t quite done, but later I regret leaving them in for another two minutes and realize why I wrote eight minutes on the recipe in the first place.
The cookies will settle on the pan as they cool, and they won’t be underbaked. Every oven is different of course, so yours might need a minute more, or a minute less, but don’t overbake them or they will lose their chewiness.
These double chocolate cookies are so pretty, they are perfect for giving away or making for guests. If you have a chocolate craving, or just want to bake something give these chocolate chewy cookies a shot!
