DIY Washer Pendant Necklace

These necklaces are so easy to make and super cute. You could easily have your kiddos make them. They would make a great Mother’s Day gift idea.

What you will need:

  • Washers (whatever size you like)
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Patterned paper
  • Glossy accents (got it at Michaels)
  • Nail file
  • Hemp or some other cord (ribbon ect)

First, take your paper and cut out a square a bit bigger than your washer. Trace your washer on the back side of the paper and cut it out. Make sure you cut it out as carefully as possible. Once you have it cut , glue it to your washer. Let the glue dry and take your nail file and gently rub it along the outside and inside of your washer to make it nice and smooth.  Once that is done, rub your finger along the edges to make sure there isn’t any dust left on your washer. washer pendant

Next, take your glossy accents and fill in the top of the washer. Start from the outside and work your way in. It takes about 2 hours for the glossy accents to set. I know it is hard to wait (especially when you are impatient like me) but trust me it will be worth it!

Once your washer has set you can put on your rope/hemp or whatever else you plan to use. Make it long enough to fit over your neck. Tie a knot in the end and you are ready to show it off!

This looks really cute and really in right now. I like how easy it is to make it but it still looks stylish and not homemade.
