CHRISTMAS THEMED SANDWICHES FOR KIDS

Kids get excited as each and every holiday approaches.

I love that about my children and I try to get into the spirit and share some of their enthusiasm.  As my children get older, it can be more difficult for them to embrace the sparkle and joy that the Christmas holiday brings.

With Christmas quickly approaching, I wanted to do something extra special for my kids this year. So, I decided to make some fun holiday-themed lunches for their lunch boxes.

CHRISTMAS THEMED SANDWICHES FOR KIDS – 3 WAYS!

This post was sponsored by Dempster’s. The opinions are completely my own.

The key to a sandwich that kids will eat is the ingredients.  A favorite jam or spread and a soft, delicious bread.  Dempster’s White Bread is the perfect sandwich starter because of the fresh baked, nutritious taste.

 CHRISTMAS SANDWICH #1 – A MITTEN

Spread your favorite jam or sandwich spread onto a piece of Dempster’s White Bread and then put the sandwich together.

Use a mitten cookie cutter (or stocking, you choose) and cut out the sandwich shape.

We added some butter & white sprinkles to the cuff of the mitten.

Your kids will LOVE this Christmas-themed sandwich in their lunch box!

CHRISTMAS SANDWICH #2 – A STAR

Use a large star cookie cutter to cut out 2 pieces of Dempster’s White Bread.

On one piece, spread jam.

On the top piece of bread, use a small star cookie cutter to cut a star shape out of the middle of the bread.

Place the piece of bread with the star shape cut out on top of the jam covered star.

You will be able to see the jam layer in the shape of a star – this is such a fun lunch idea for kids!

CHRISTMAS SANDWICH #3 – A CHRISTMAS TREE

Christmas Tree Sandwich for kids

Make a jam sandwich with 2 pieces of bread and then use a Christmas Tree cookie cutter to cut out the sandwich shape.

Next, use decorating icing to create a string for the Christmas lights.

We used chocolate covered sunflower seeds for the lights.

This is more of a sweet sandwich perfect for an after-school snack or party idea.

These Christmas themed sandwiches for kids are perfect for your child’s lunch or even a fun classroom holiday party!

My kids always adore us using cookie cutters to shape their sandwiches. These are some great shapes you mention to make lunch a bit more interesting while the kids are off school for winter break.
