Maybe it is because we have had such a mild winter here in Manitoba, but I have had summer on my mind. With summer comes all the fun outdoor activities and I can hardly wait.
We have a large backyard with a play structure, lots of grass to run around on and a decent size cement pad. The neighborhood children love to come play in our backyard in the summer and I love nothing more than to see my girls run and play. Being active is so important for kids and adults alike.
I have been searching around for basketball goals that would work well on our cement pad. Playing basketball with other children would help our girls to learn more about good sportsmanship and the value of being part of a team.
We can not get a roof-mount basketball goal because of the location of our cement pad. I think it would be fantastic to have one that is adjustable so that it can “grow” along with our children. I love the idea of having it lower for the younger kids and then being able to raise it easily for the youth or parents to shoot hoops too.
We live in an age where it is easy to sit around and play electronics. There is nothing wrong with this, we just need to make sure it is all done in moderation. We need to be active in order to stay healthy. It is often easy to spend money on movies, video games, entertainment systems etc, but my husband and I feel that it is equally important to invest in recreational activities and equipment to make being active more fun.
