Watermelon Cake

cut up watermelon cake

Every summer I look forward to the big, red, juicy watermelon that come from Texas.  It’s a summer staple that I love to eat and feed to my kids.

Last summer I shared with you the three tier fruit cake made with real fruit.

This summer I decided on another watermelon cake but this time it is real cake meant to look like a watermelon.

  • Not only did I decorate the outside to mimic the fruit, I colored the inside so that when you cut it you get the same effect.
  • My kids loved this version and would probably prefer to eat this over the real thing if I let them.
