Top 5 Christmas Nail Designs from 2014

This week I’m taking a break from reviews and sharing with you my favourite Christmas nails I did this year. So here are my Top 5 Christmas Nail Designs from 2014:

First we have a design that transitioned me into the Christmas season. Its flowers but with Christmas colours. I used Bogotá Blackberry and Funny bunny for this design along with a black thin tip to outline the flowers and add some dots to the design. This is a fairly simple design and you could use any colours you want for any time of the year!

Next we have snowflakes! You can’t go through winter and not do at least a few snowflake designs. I think I actually did three this year. This design I did over OPIs DS Titanium and loved how great a sparkly background looked with the simple snowflakes.

Now we are getting a bit more Christmassy with poinsettias. I used OPIs Angel with a Leadfoot,  In a Holidaze and Christmas Gone Plaid, along with Don’t Speak Pure 18k Gold as a top coat. I didn’t even use a thin brush for the red of the poinsettias I just slapped it on there, because with this kind of design precision doesn’t matter as much.

Christmas trees of all colours is probably the simplest design of the five I picked. I just chose five different Christmas colours and made swirly Christmas trees with them on each nail.  I also took a glitter and added that on top of each tree to complete the look.

And finally my favourite design, Christmas sweater nails! I again used Bogota Blackberry along with Angle with a Leadfoot.  This is the first year I’ve attempted these because they’ve always seemed so time consuming but I did a fairly simple one, as Christmas sweater nails go, and it didn’t actually take me any longer than most of my designs do. You can be sure that next year I’ll be trying some more complicated sweater nails.

I am sad that I won’t get to paint more Christmas nail art this year, but I’ve got plenty designs I want to try out in the New Year.
