Tips for choosing the best toy for your little one #FisherPriceMoms

If there is one thing I’ve learned when it comes to gifts for little ones, more is not always better!

I remember when my first baby started to crawl, we had toys all over the house. I’d wake with her in the middle of the night only to trip over the abundance of toys that somehow never ended up being put away. Sadly, many of these toys were laying around, not even being played with for more than a moment…

By the time my second baby came around I had come to some conclusions about choosing the best toy for little ones and I decided to share some of my tips with you.

Tips for choosing the best toy for your little one

  • Having less toys is better than having more toys – I have always found that my little ones played better with a few toys than an overflowing bucket of toys. When I did get too many toys, I always put a few away and cycled them.
  • Choose quality toys – You may pay more for higher quality toys, but I have found it to be worthwhile. The toys last longer and you do not need to have as many. I found it actually saves money in the long run.
  • Select toys that serve more than 1 purpose – Since you may want to have fewer toys in the house, finding toys that serve multiple purposes is great. I always loved having 1 toys that could do more than having 5 different toys to serve the same functions that you could get in one toy.

The Hottest Baby Toy This Season

hottest toy for baby

I have a feeling that the Laugh & Learn Crawl Around™ Car (for ages 3 – 36 months)  will be the hottest toy for little ones this season. This toy passed all my tips for choosing the best toy – let me share with you some of the reasons I believe it will be such a hit…

  • It’s stationary – This toy stays put so your little one can crawl around and over it without having it more away from them. If mom is busy cooking supper, the toy can keep your little entertained near by, or it can be moved to where dad is folding laundry in the living room 😉
  • It has many purposes – Little ones get all-around learning with this toy “The interactive lights and sounds dashboard keeps baby busy with a light-up baby “GPS”, horn to honk, gears to shift, and more. With over 75 sung songs, tunes and phrases, and three modes of play, there’s plenty of fuel for learning adventures and fun!”
  • The Laugh & Learn Crawl Around™ Car is quality made by a trusted brand – Fisher Price. Look at all the Fisher Price products that have been around since we were kids – it’s a brand that lasts!
  • My friends have tried it – I have a number of friends who already have this toy and they can’t stop talking about it. They say that their little ones never want to get out of it, or that they play all the time.

I Agree the fewer toys the better to avoid a lack of focus

I agree that less is often better. I find my grandchildren have tons of toys but generally it's one special thing that gets played with. I love The Laugh & Learn Crawl Around™ Car. That's a good idea for my next 2 grandchildren that are underways. I agree totally that Fisher Price is a brand that lasts and lasts - in fact they survived my 7 children and were then handed on to friends.

I do the cycling through toys thing... works for us, he seems to forget about the toy, and is excited when we bring it back out! :)

This toy looks great! So many different things to do and work well through all the different stages, so doesn't get old fast like some.

I definitely agree with fewer toys. We have SO many in our house and really there are three or so that get played with ALL the time. For Christmas this year I'm trying to focus on getting accessory type toys as opposed to totally new ones (i.e. a set of dollhouse dishes to go with her existing dollhouse that gets a lot of play, or a new food item for her play kitchen which also gets a lot of play).
