Tackling Gift Giving

Are you all done shopping?
Christmas is next week. I don’t know about you, but I can’t believe how quickly the time has flown by.

Here is how we tackle gift giving in our family.
  • gifts to each of our parents
  • gifts to our children
  • gift to 1 sibling (we pull tickets)
  • gifts to 1 charity
  • gifts to teachers, Sunday school teachers, bus driver etc.
  • photo cards to friends and family
This may seem straightforward to you, but it is not always as easy as it looks. Some people are hard to shop for.

This year we decided to use the Empire Theatres ‘Give & Get’ program for some of our shopping. I love it because when you spend $30 in Empire gift cards you get $30 in Empire coupons to keep for yourself. Pretty cool!
Here’s the deal: When you purchase $30 in Empire Theatres’ Gift Cards you’ll receive $30 in Empire Theatres Coupons – keep them for yourself or use the coupons for stocking stuffers
Hurry, offer ends: Friday, December 24th

I try to buy throughout the year. Especially during sales of course. But it's not easy shopping for people who have it all! For those hard to buy for people I just get them gift cards/vouchers to companies/brands they like. Like for the avid reader, Borders vouchers!

I tackle gift giving in a few ways. I would make baskets with some high end items filled with dollar store treats for all my friend's families and siblings. I would give toys to the kids and for really close friend would buy them something at craft fairs. I also buy books for many people throughout the year and save up for Christmas. Now, I am entering Giveaways to win gifts for people.

How do I tackle gift-giving? With amazon.com, of course! ;) Seriously though, with two kids in tow and another on the way, I've found amazon to be the most convenient (and usually cheapest) way to shop if the item isn't going to be handmade.
