Passing down play traditions {Hot Wheels & Barbie Mega Bloks #Giveaway}

It is nice to know that some things don’t change, well not entirely at least. I can remember as a child sitting down and playing for hours and hours, giving my mom solitude while I played with my interlocking bricks or my barbies. I used my imagination and came up with so many play adventures. And today I see my girls, in many ways, continuing those play traditions. Only on a different level.

Today the play sets are much more involved then they were back in my days. Thanks to Mega Bloks they now have options like Hot Wheels inspired kits, and my girls personal favorite, Barbie. The girls love re-creating their favorite Princess and the Popstar Barbie movie on their Mega Bloks Super Star Stage. How cool is that?!? There are fine details that get our girls excited about this play set including microphone, guitars, and speakers. And not to forget about the Hot Wheels set that can transform from a monster truck to a race car – daddy can’t get enough of that one and he often picks up his dancing barbie daughters in the Super Blitzen Monster Truck for daddy-daughter dates 😉

Back in the day we had lots of fun with our blocks. They were simple and colorful. And while this has not changed over they years they are more and more detailed to give it those nice touches that make it even more cool, according to my little girls.  Looking at the sets it is nice that they can be changed and modified to our liking. We wanted the monster truck to be taller, so we pulled out some more yellow bricks and voila, we now had a taller monster truck.

I love that even though things change through the years, the toys we loved have adapted to the new world that our children are a part of today.
