Earlier this month, I wrote about my journey from breast to bottle. While most of the time the mother decides when to stop breastfeeding and start bottle feeding, there are times when babies decide all on their own. Playtex bottles have been around for many years. Because technology changes, and because Playtex wants to give you and your baby the best bottle feeding experience, Playtex is continually changing the design and function of their bottles.
The new Playtex VentAire is designed to make feeding easier for both mom and baby. This angled design is unique in that it helps to reduce colic. The bottom vent helps to decrease air ingestion, and the angled design allows semi-upright feeding which is recommended by pediatricians to — get this! — reduce ear infections! My daughter had many ear infections as a baby, and as I look back now, I realize they started shortly after she started bottle feeding. If something as simple as a well designed bottle can help reduce ear infections (with its pain, high fever and hospital visits), I’m in! The Playtex VentAire is a reusable bottle that is top rack dishwasher safe so it is great on saving money too.
The new Playtex Nurser with Drop-Ins Liners is also an angled design bottle that was created with your baby in mind. The pre-sterilized disposable liners gently collapse to keep air from mixing with your baby’s milk, reducing colic and tummy discomfort. The Playtex Nurser with Drop-Ins Liners are disposable making them perfect for moms on-the-go. The angled design also makes it easier for little hands to hold their own bottle when they get to that age.
Both of these great bottles can be used with any new Playtex nipple and as always, these Playtex products are BPA free!
So, which nipple should you use with these great Playtex bottles?
The Playtex Nipple Variety Pack comes with two different nipple-flow speeds, slow and medium, and four distinct shapes including Breastlike, Naturalatch, Fullsized for a wider mouth and Angled for semi-upright feeding. Skip the trial & error and find the nipple that is perfect for your baby.
