Marble "snow" painting

Today I thought we would try marble painting.
We taped paper to the inside of a small tray. (from Dollarama)

Then dropped on small amounts of paint.

We then placed 2 marbles on the tray and rolled them around.

one child wanted orange paint, so we did a quick mini lesson on how red and yellow make orange.

The children were in awe.

It was at this point that Snow White informed me that we were doing crafts about snow this week, so we needed snow on our pictures, so I dug out some pickling salt and they sprinkled it on the pictures!
They actually turned out quite nice!

and best of all, we had FUN!

The paintings are gorgeous. I love that they are so vibrant.

We did marble painting a while ago, but I think it's time we did this again. Thank you for the reminder.

Those are beautiful and you know what's really great about them is that no two of them are alike!

I've been wanting to try marble painting with my kids but I just know my 2-yr old twins will put the marbles in their mouths, resulting in spending the rest of the day in the ER. Sigh...

These are so pretty! Our letter for next week is M and we were going to do this, too. Such a fun way to use marbles. :)
