Becoming a mom has forced me to discover myself in my rawest form.

There was once a time that I consciously chose to have a makeup-free day, the days I decided I would let my hair look beachy and windblown.

Now, these days are somewhat representative of the way I navigate the chaos of motherhood.

My days of getting out of bed whenever I feel like it and putting on a pot of coffee while I choose an outfit and meticulously apply my makeup are distant memories.

Those once chosen beachy hairstyles sans makeup days have turned into mom buns and yoga pants and they do not necessarily feel like a constant choice anymore.

Being a Mom has changed me in many ways, but it has also helped me grow. It has helped me love the person I am.

Being a Mom has made me a better person overall.

It has changed my perspective.

It has made me a better person.

It has changed my life for the better.

Being a Mom has made me more patient. It has increased my ability to see things through the eyes of a child. It has forced me to focus on what is truly important in life.

Whether I want to admit it or not, being a mom has forced me to grow up, even when I thought I didn’t have growing up left to do.

In many ways, being a mom has helped to bring out my good qualities and forced me to work really hard to change the negatives.

I am more confident in who I am.

I am more compassionate.

I am more mindful.

I experience joy at a much deeper level.

I appreciate the little things, like a warm hug and a hot cup of coffee, far more than I did before becoming a mother.

I am more grateful.

I am more forgiving.

I know what true love actually means.

Motherhood has changed me and helped me grow in so many different ways.

It is an incredible experience to be a parent, but the transformation that took place within me actually shocks me.

I look back on my life before kids and I can not imagine my life in the present any other way.

Motherhood has made me the person I am today, and for that, I will be forever grateful.
