Let me tell you about this homemade ranch dressing. Our family is working hard to live a healthy lifestyle. In an effort to know more about what we are consuming we decided to give up a lot of food items we had become accustomed to. We read labels now and try to make healthy, homemade versions of some of our favourite foods. One staple our daughters really missed was ranch dressing.
As a dip for fresh flowering vegetables, or over a salad, ranch dressing was always a classic in our home. I am thrilled that ranch has had a comeback for us with this fresh homemade version that is just as good (if not better) than the ones that used to occupy our fridge.
Homemade Ranch Dressing
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Silk Unsweetened almond beverage
- 1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 cup mayo
- 1 tsp dried dill weed
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Mix together the almond milk and lemon juice in a bowl and let sit for 10 minutes.
Whisk in the mayo.
Add the remaining ingredients and stir very well.
Cover and refrigerate until serving.
This healthy alternative has found a new home in our kitchen. This homemade ranch dressing is a home run – perfect for dipping chicken fingers or drizzling over a spinach salad.

This sounds wonderful! I work doing private home care for elderly clients and one, in particular, is allergic to dairy and vinegar, so coming up with a salad dressing that she can eat is a challenge. This would be perfect! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

I never thought of making Salad dressing with almond milk although I use it in Smoothies,, This does make sense because of the low calorie count and the higher proten count. Thank you for this recipe.
