Flower Match Garden Patch : Mommy Moment

I am a believer that children learn best through play. In fact I am bold enough to say that a child’s play is their work. When children play they developing many life skills. Toys like these sort and match ones from Guidecraft helps children learn to recognize shapes, colors, memory and hand-eye coordination.

Although these specific toys are geared for ages 3+ I find that they can actually be used for many years. When I invest in a product I like to see how many different uses it has as well as if it can work past the intended age. While a 3 year old may be able to match the objects to the pictures, a 6 year old could use the objects as stencils to trace or can try to draw and color what they see on the cards.

One of our favorite activities right now with the Flower Match Garden Patch is playing the “Show Me” game. “Show me the large flower” or “show me the small flower” can be simple, but practicing asking “Show me the large pink flower” or “Show me the small blue flower” adds a new challenge to this fun learning game.

I love the quality of these Guidecraft Sort and Match sets. They are well made and are functional because they come in a beautiful storage box that can double up as a display/work area for the child.
