For three weeks I have been testing the wireless PEAK Performance back-up camera system. The system was simple to install taking only minutes from the time the package was opened to the time the entire system was installed and ready to use. The camera was mounted on my license plate and wired into the vehicles reverse lighting system. The camera system uses wireless broadcasting to project the image from the camera to the LCD monitor inside the vehicle. The instructions for installation were simple and clear. I used the back-up camera morning and night, in good weather and in bad weather including two mornings of heavy fog. Even in a slushy snow downfall the camera projected clear images and was not impacted by the weather unlike my rear view windshield. The camera did not require any maintenance or cleaning unlike my rear view window which required several cleanings and scrapings. The image captured by the camera was clear and bright both morning and night. After using the Peak Performance back-up camera system for several weeks I can’t imagine driving without it now.
The angle covered by the camera provides a large, clear viewing area, which is nicely illuminated by the vehicle’s reverse lights. Without the Peak Performance back camera a driver is limited when making judgments about spacing and safety based on the view from the rear view window. With the Peak Performance camera a driver is able to use the large area captured by the camera to make safe driving decisions and judgements about distance. I definitely feel more comfortable using the camera to reverse out of my driveway as now I am able to see a child, a pet, or an object behind my vehicle that is lower in the field of vision than when using just a rear view mirror. I am accident prone I have always been nervous about baking up in parking lots. Parallel parking used to create a lot of anxiety for me. Since installing and using the Peak Performance back-up camera parallel parking has become stress free and backing feels safe. The camera simplifies the task by providing a clear image of the space directly behind the vehicle I would not have been able to view using just my rear view mirror. The camera can be used on a variety of vehicles and was definitely useful on my large vehicle.
The view captured by the back-up camera expands several feet behind the vehicle and provides a clear, bright, and in focus image on the 3.5 inch colour LCD windshield monitor. The monitor can be installed on either your windshield or dash board. The monitor sits inconspicuously to the left of my steering wheel, hardly noticeable while I am driving. The monitor is like my own dash board companion that gives me piece of mind while I am driving and makes me feel safe driving alone or with my young family. I am hooked on the Peak Performance back-up camera and so thankful for the opportunity to make my driving experience safer with it. I would definitely recommend the Peak Performance wireless back-up camera system for both experienced and novice drivers as I believe the camera provides a new way to increase your safety when driving.
