GRATEFUL VS THANKFUL – WHAT THE WORD GRATEFUL MEANS TO ME

Many people wonder what the difference is between being grateful and being thankful is.

The truth of the matter is, that I too have struggled with that question myself.

The great grateful vs thankful debate has always been at the back of my mind.

Until one day I discovered the difference, and what the word grateful means to me.

GRATEFUL VS THANKFUL

Grateful and thankful actually share a very similar definition, although there are some differences.

Gratitude is something experienced when you are appreciative of something that you have received in life.

It is a feeling almost entirely generated by external circumstances.

Whereas, feeling thankful is a feeling generated by relief or pleasure, or can even be an expression of relief and gratitude.

While these two feelings are very similar, I have found that they are not exactly the same.

WHAT THE WORD GRATEFUL MEAN TO ME

I have thought about this for a long time.

I have mulled over in my mind what the word grateful means to me quite often in fact.

You see, to me, gratitude goes a long way.

Being grateful means that I show my family how much I appreciate them all on a frequent basis.

It means that I truly see how fantastic they are and how lucky I am to get to experience life with them on my team.

Being grateful means that I am constantly reflecting on how happy I am to have the things I have in my life.

It means I am glad that my life is filled with so much pleasure and happiness, and I know I am better off for it all.

To me, being grateful means not taking life for granted.

It means always making sure that I pay close attention to the little things.

Gratitude means happiness.

It means true, uninhibited laughter.

It means being grateful that I have something to laugh about.

When I consider what the word grateful means to me, I think about all the positive influences I have in my life.

I think about why they make me feel grateful.

I remember the memories and the feelings I have experienced with them.

When it comes to what the word grateful means to me, it is simple.

It means showing others they are appreciated.

It means reflecting on how happy I am.

It means not taking a second of the beautiful life I have for granted.

To me, being grateful means true happiness, positivity and amazing memories.
